I am wondering if you are familiar with Colonial Maryland land owners maps of Dorchester. Hoping to find the Dean family (of property Deans/Deanes Neglect) in hopes of finding a graveyard there.

Hi Cheryl, there are several sets of Dean/Deane’s. Do you have a general idea of where the farm is located? Hooper’s Island? Taylor’s Island? Every little bit helps!

It’s on Route 335 south of the Tubman Visitor Center. It will be on the left after you cross the Blackwater Bridge.

Hello, can you add the Zorah Methodist Episcopal Church on Petersburg Road, in Hurlock, MD? It is the church just west of the Petersburg Cemetery, where a lot of the people buried in that cemetery attended church. The church can be dated back to 1898. Pictures of the church can be found at: https://mht.maryland.gov/secure/medusa/PDF/Dorchester/D-332.pdf
I also have a few pictures of the church, taken in 2017 that I can share. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Thank you for the input Karen, but this map is not documenting Church locations, only burial grounds. If there are graves located on site with this church, then I will be more than happy to include them. Do you know if there are graves on the site?
